Karen H.’s Farewell Gathering - April 2026
A decade of Wednesdays, a circle of grace,
With Karen to lead us in this sacred space.
From the very first day when Grace was the theme
You led us through the Word like an absolute dream.
But she brought so much more than just books to the table,
She brought every resource that she was quite able!
With Bible journaling, stamps, and a rainbow of pens,
She showed us that “coloring” helps us be friends.
“It’s easy!” She’d say, with a verse map in hand,
While we stared in wonder, trying to understand.
She spoke of the Blue Letter, word studies, and Greek,
While we just smiled and asked, “What are the questions for next week?”
Though we might not be masters of every new “app,”
We followed your lead — and we’re grateful for that!
From podcasts to commentaries, tools of the age,
You’ve been our professor, our guide, and our sage.
In Love Rules we learned that the law is a gift,
A blueprint for life and a spiritual lift.
Hebrews introduced us to our High Priest above,
And Gratitude filled us with Thanksgiving love.
She demystified Proverbs—that Woman we knew?
Turned out to be Jesus, revealed through and through!
We spent time Getting to Know Jesus, our Savior and Friend,
Through Luther’s six teachings, from beginning to end.
Galatians rang clear with the truth that we own,
We are justified by faith—and by faith alone!
We found Hope in the Psalms when the seasons were dim,
And JOY in Philippians, by looking to Him.
In Hosea we witnessed God’s Relentless pursuit,
A Love never-lending, steadfast and resolute!
Inspired by the Spirit—in word and in prayer,
In praise and reflection—He led us right there.
We studied Genesis for a year, maybe three,
We weren’t sure we’d ever finish, if we’re speaking honestly!
She taught us Ten Questions to ask of the Word,
Ensuring the voice of the Savior was heard.
She walked us through John—every chapter and sign,
Till Jesus shone clearly, both human and divine.
We learned about Peter, that bold, stumbling man,
And Luther’s great Battle— virtue vs. sin’s plan.
The teaching is done, the circle complete,
Enough for Now—this goodbye is bittersweet.
So as you head North, Strong and Courageous and true,
Know we are Exploring God’s Promises too.
For the seeds that you’ve planted in this sisterhood,
Are a gift from above—of all that is good.
You’ve made our walk with Jesus feel incredibly bright.
Thank you, Karen, for the decade, the laughter, and the light!
